7. Equal Partnership

“Marriage is an equal partnership that requires faith and prayer.” (P.7)

Marriage is between a man and a woman. Although each has different attributes and responsibilities, they are equally important and essential in the Plan of Salvation. Non is more important than the other. “In the family, there is no “president or vice president.” When couples understand this principle, they work together and independently to raise and nurture their family. There is no superiority or inferiority in a marriage relationship; neither walk ahead nor behind the other; they walk side by side, as equals, the divine offspring of God”. (Soares, 2022)

When a couple and family seek guidance through prayer and scripture study, repentance, and forgiveness, they find support and strength to keep working to raise and love their children and each other.
